In 2004 a small group of friends attended the My Nanas Salsa Challenge in Tempe, AZ which is a fund-raising event for Hemophilia. The group asked the question "Why don't we participate next year?" For a year they worked diligently on a team name, logo and the perfect salsa recipe.
In 2005 they entered in the Salsa challenge and the Drunken Jalapenos were born. What better birthplace for great salsa than the southwest!
In 2009 the Drunken Jalapenos won several awards in the Individual Category including 1st place Hot Salsa, 2nd place Mild Salsa, Best of Show and Grand Champion!
In 2010 they competed in the Business Category and finished with a 4th place Mild Salsa and 6th place Hot Salsa.
This was the team's 6th year in the fund-raising event.
Over the years the Drunken Jalapenos have helped contribute thousands of dollars to the Hemophilia Association and will continue to do so.
